Supporting Charity: The Walsh Bay Community shows their generous support for a number of good causes. You all can get involved with any of these worthwhile causes.
Can Too: Operates independently funding young Australian researchers in the quest to cure Cancer. Support Walsh Bay resident Amanda Russell by sponsoring her as she smashes the SMH half marathon on 22 May. Amanda is "running for Jane" this year. Jane is our inspirational Walsh Bay Resident New York Marathoner who is now running her own marathon in 2015 to conquer breast cancer.
Follow Amanda's blog and show your support by sponsoring her at the
Can Too - Amanda Russell website page.
A Big Shave: As Jane undergoes treatment for Breast Cancer, when she started losing her hair, instead of crying in her bathroom mirror - she decided to dedicate every little hair on her head to raising $ for young Australian Cancer researchers -
HOW AMAZING IS SHE? In her words: She is currently experiencing the ‘weird and wonderful’ effects of chemotherapy following her surgery for breast cancer. Her hair has started to fall out so she decided to use this momentous event for a great cause and here you are!
"Did you know that the average person has 150 000 hairs on their head? She wants to raise a minimum of 1c for every hair aiming to raise $1500.00!"
Last Saturday was a momentous occasion. It was time for Jane's hair to finally ALL be removed! The event was hosted by Bar Cycle and supported by DelAqua. Fubndraising was kicked off generously by 3 of the follicly challenged men of Walsh Bay, Alberto, Mario and David. The event was generously supported by many residents and the Walsh Bay Community and an amazing $1980 was raised on the morning. Collectively over $10,000 has been raised by these two amazing ladies and the generosity of this incredible community.
You can still show your support for Jane and contribute to her brave Big Shave by donating on
Amanda Russell's Can Too Webpage.
