Opening Festival at Pier 2/3 Walsh Bay Arts Precinct

The ACO celebrates the opening of its new home with special guests including William Barton, Jimmy Barnes, Jane Campion, Omar Musa, Genevieve Lacey, Slava Grigoryan and more.

ACO celebrates the opening of their spectacular new home at Pier 2/3 with a full weekend of festivities, including thrilling live concerts, digital live streams, boundary-pushing collaborations, stimulating talks, engaging family shows, free events and more. 

In keeping with their collaborative spirit, ACO will be joined by iconic artists and close friends of the Orchestra including didgeridoo virtuoso, singer and composer William Barton, singer/songwriter Jimmy Barnes, filmmaker Jane Campion, poet, musician and artist Omar Musa, guitarist Slava Grigoryan, pianist Tamara-Anna Cislowska and actors from Sydney Theatre Company.

 
 

THE CHAMBER

Walsh Bay Arts & Commerce was established in 2007 to represent the business interests of the vibrant Walsh Bay community. Harnessing the collective resources of its members, WBAC strives to grow the commercial sustainability of the precinct by leading on marketing and publicity initiatives that achieve results for the precinct.

The Walsh Bay Arts Precinct

The NSW Government announced the completion of Wharf 4/5 of the Walsh Bay Arts Precinct in December 2020. This milestone signals the return of six resident arts companies, with brand new theatres, rehearsal spaces, studios and administration facilities. 

The revitalisation of Wharf 4/5 includes: Brand new theatres, rehearsal spaces, studios and administration facilities for all resident companies New stairs, external lifts and balconies, which have been designed as a contemporary interpretation of the original gantries reflecting the precinct’s former industrial heritage Refurbishments to the bar at the end of the Wharf, including re-purposing heritage timber beams to create a new bar top New commercial spaces and retail opportunities Installation of around 900 solar panels greatly enhancing sustainability. 
Performing arts companies residing at Wharf 4/5 include: Sydney Theatre Company, Sydney Dance Company, Bangarra Dance Theatre, Sydney Philharmonia Choirs, Gondwana Choirs and The Song Company

Walsh Bay Walking Tours App

A new, user-friendly self-guided walking tour app has been developed by Walsh Bay Arts and Commerce and our development partner Orama Communications with funding support from the City of Sydney.
