Last month WBAC reported on the Fair Work Commission’s decision to reduce Sunday penalty rates and the NSW Business Chamber’s support of the move. The Federal Opposition recently made an announcement that could have a major impact on this.
On 14 March the Opposition announced the creation of the ‘Australian Jobs Taskforce’ – a program to address employment issues - including the penalty rates decision.
Concerned about any potential moves to derail the recent penalty rates decision, the NSW Business Chamber is keen to play a central role in meetings when the newly formed Jobs Taskforce is in NSW.
