The Southern Highlands is set to host the annual Moss Vale Rural Chamber of Commerce and the Wingecarribee Shire Council’s Moss Vale Buskers’ Battle over the weekend of 11 and 12 March with a headline act from 2016 event winner, Angus Murray.

Guests can expect to enjoy great food and wine, arts and crafts along with the main event – lots of free, live entertainment! This year the Busker’ Battle, sponsored by McDonald’s Moss Vale, has expanded to include a two-day line-up and more than $7,000 in prize money - including a new People’s Choice Award along with Judged and Encouragement Awards.

"The event is all about bringing community together, showcasing the best of the best in the busking world and showing off our incredible offering of retailers, businesses and some of the finest food and wine products in the country," says Brigid Kennedy, President of Moss Vale and Rural Chamber of Commerce.

The Moss Vale commercial precinct will come alive with buskers on Saturday, and from 10am to 4pm on Sunday, nearby Leighton Gardens will provide the setting for an entertainment extravaganza.

Adding a touch of star factor, local celebrity judges will be on hand including Graeme Day from 2ST and Aria-Award winning musician Margaret Urlich, to award winners a generous prize pool, including $3,000 for the overall winner.

Lynne Shaw, event organiser, says: "Moss Vale streets will be alive with buskers on Saturday, and from 10am on Sunday, Leighton Gardens will be the place to settle in for a full day of fabulous music, great food and wine, and a showcase of some of the beautiful work from our local creative artisans.  And it's free!"

But you’ll need to be quick. Buskers must get in before registrations close next week (February 19). And for families keen to enjoy a great weekend full of quality, live entertainment, food and wine – not to mention arts and craft check out for weekly updates.
