Walsh Bay Arts & Commerce (WBAC) is bringing back live jazz to the original site of the old Harbourside Brasserie – a legendary live venue that attracted jazz greats like Vince Jones. Starting Sunday October 20, WBAC will offer free live jazz, where the iconic Pier One Sydney Harbour Hotel now stands and a variety of harbourside bar and dining experiences are to be found.
Headlining a diverse and exciting, all-day Jazz line-up will be one of Australia’s most powerful voices in Jazz – Emma Pask, whose stage presence is reminiscent of the classic era Jazz greats and will leave you spellbound.
Developed in partnership with Sydney Improvised Music Association (SIMA) the Jazz on the Bay live line-up will include National Jazz Award Winner Aaron BAZ Flower, high energy Latin Jazz artists Samba Mundi and Queen Porter Stomp – raised in the swamps of Sydney’s Inner West and raised in the traditions of New Orleans Jazz with a rhythm section born of cut throat Jazz chops and a banjo that can exorcise demons the wrong side of midnight!
